Agri Buzz: Gujarat Summer Acreage Down 0.51% On Year, Groundnut Area Soars Around 12%

According to the latest data from the Gujarat Agriculture Directorate, the latest sowing data showed that the total acreage under summer crops stood at 11.48 lakh hectares as on 15 April 2024, down slightly by 0.51% compared to the same period last year. Area under total cereals stood at 4.18 lakh hectares, down 3.72% on year. Pulses area was flat at 0.67 lakh hectares. Oilseeds area dropped marginally to 1.75 lakh hectares. However, acreage under key Pulses commodity Groundnut soared by 11.73% to 0.60 lakh hectares.
